Guide of the Line Six Spider Three Preset Settings by Corey Bastion
If you're already thinking "where are the presets" on the Line six Spider 3, then don't leave, just keep reading.
After buying my Spider III as part of a mid life crisis ( it was less expensive than a motorbike ), I thought... "This is a top piece of kit, pity the Pilot's Guide doesn't give more technical info about the settings, or indeed catalogue the built-in presets. Perhaps I could compile my personal this weekend." That was in November '07, I measured the final preset in March '08, at least now I will get on with my crisis and learn to actually play the guitar.
This is an informal try to catalogue the 403 preset values which can be selected on the Spider III Combo 75 and above, composed of 246 Artists + 156 Songs + 1 phantom preset, 05C. It is likely to contain many minor blunders and probably two massive ones for good measure.
READING THE PRESETS TABLES
The Bank name and Preset name are given as shown on the display of the amp.
The Amp model is represented by it's friendly name, followed by a single digit and a colour letter. Eg "Twin Twang 2G" indicating the following amp model with a green LED setting.
The values for Drive / Treble / Mid / Bass / Ch Vol / Reverb are in the range 00-99, they can be said to be a %age of the total range, reasonably easy to translate since the controls are marked in eleven radial positions which can be taken as 00 to ten. A table value of "50" would be 5.0, top dead centre.
These values were derived using the "Comparison" feature of the amp, and are probably correct to + / - 2%, however values at the top end ( 90 - 99 ) have less definition, and may be less correct.
