Whats the point of having diatonic harmonicas?
When there are chromatic harps that can play the same scales in any key?
Besides the ease of playing a diatonic harmonica.
Thats basically it...the ease of it already being tuned to a scale. Also the tone will be a lot more rounder on chromatics and you can bend better without worrying about ruining an expensive harp if it is diatonic.

so my quetion is, are these good harmonicas (i'm just starting out, so are they good for a beginner?) do you have any other recommendations? (i don't really know any other harmonica brands) and whats the difference between diatonic and chromatic?
There are a lot of types of harmonicas out there and I'd check out the website www.harmonicasandstuff.com and look under the begginers tab.
They also sell harmonicas (all types) and the owners are really great folks!
