Learn and Master Guitar With Jamorama

Is the Saga HT-10 guitar kit good for a 13 year old boy?
I'm looking to build a kit guitar this summer for fun. So far my favorite one has been the Saga HT-10. I was wondering if me, being a 13 year old boy who's never built a guitar kit before and doesn't have experience with tools or electronics, would be able to assemble it with not too much difficulty. I know it won't be just sliding in the parts, but I'm just wondering if it's in my ability to do it.
I looked at this kit on the Saga website and they say that all holes are predrilled and all the electronics are prewired so no soldering or drilling is required. This should make the basic assembly very easy with the only tools you will need to use being a couple of screwdrivers, an adjustable wrench to tighten the tuner bushings and the potentiometer and output jack nuts. You may also need to buy a needle file set to notch the saddles and the nut if not already cut (grooved). I assume the nut is already cut but I could not find out for sure from their website. If it has not been cut you may want to have that done at a guitar shop as it should be done with precision that is difficult to achieve without special tools and skills. Another dificulty will be reshaping the end of the headstock. Access to a band saw would make it easier but it could be done with a scroll saw, jig saw, or by hand with a coping saw which can be bought fairly inexpensively and should be a safe and easy enough method for you to use. The final step that may be a problem is applying a finish. I would suggest a satin lacquer finish as it will be much easier to get professional results than with a gloss finish. You can buy guitar lacquer in spray cans from a company called Stewart McDonald which sells all kinds of guitar repair and building tools, parts, kits, materials as well as plans, books, and other instructional materials. You may also want to check out the guitar kits available from a company called Grizzly Industrial. All in all I would say this is a project a 13 year old should be able to do but it's hard for me to judge. I was trying start a guitar manufacturing company at 16!
